First thing I had to do was experiment with how to melt the lantern’s perspex… Using a heat-gun I was able to create this frosted affect, which will fit perfectly with my need of a semi-transparent effect in order to hide the LED bulbs of the Solar lighting but to still look lit up.

Here’s the process of the second pole creation…I used different wood for this one and it is much harder to sculpt and has thus taken me a lot longer to do than expected! But as it is shorter than the last one, I’ve carved lots of drips for a more melted down effect.
